Willi Mittler, chef and hotelier, one of the leading master chefs in Germany, has worked at some of the most prestigious addresses in Germany: the Erbprinz in Ettlingen, the Hotel Krone in Herxheim-Hayna, the Hotel Kronenschlösschen in Hattenheim, 8 years in charge of the kitchens at the Hotel Restaurant Krone in Rudesheim-Assmannshausen (when it was at its peak), and most recently in charge at the Schlosshotel Holzrichter in Veserde, in the Märkisches Sauerland area of North-Rhine-Westphalia. Now settled in among the vineyards, he offers a refined local cuisine in his inimitable style, while his wife takes care of guests’ comfort and well-being. A particular treat is a ride in a covered wagon through the very striking landscape, and from here you can also take a boat trip along the Moselle valley, while there are too plenty of footpaths all the way from Metz to Coblenz and the Rhine. And we have a Motocross course close by, as well as several tennis clubs. The Salm valley and the Mosel are beloved of fishermen. The Ensch Birkenheck Golf Club (Trier), is a mere 2.5 km away, with its well-tended and challenging 18 hole course.
