Naurath - A Celtic place

In the nice Meulenwald has lain Naurath an excellent starting point for the forest wanderings with which one can switch off of the everyday hectic rush and the traffic noise.

The wood was always the stamping element for this clearing village„ nuwe clears“ (new clearing). In 1569 the place became under the name„ Nuwert“ mentions. Of the names developed then about„ Nawert“ up to today's name Naurath. Near the place the Celtic tumuli from which two lie till this day still untouched in the thick wood were found. At clearing work tracks of Roman foundation walls and Roman roofing tiles also appeared with which is proved that for a long time from the 14-th century here human bustle ruled. Marvelous footpaths with traveling parking lots and rest benches at select places invite to the walking.

The wild wealth from romantic brooks durchzogenen Meulenwaldes also lures many hunters after here. The traditional Naurather village party and home party is celebrated at the beginning of June.
