Föhren Mosel, Seat of the famous imperial counts of Kesselstatt

Föhren, the place with the airfield, offers not only the possibility to have a look at whole Roman Weinstrasse from above (also by balloon!), but it is also a seat of the famous imperial counts of Kesselstatt.

The castle is a former water castle; especially his outside arrangement is worth seeing. If the results of the historical research are right, here many of the earthenwares were produced of Roman time. The local name became from lat. Name Furnus (one sucked. Jug stove) derived.
