Morscheid

Morscheid, between the brook valleys of Ruwer and Riveris

The place sits enthroned on a height back between the brook valleys of Ruwer and Riveris. The three-sided dropping and to the north in the confluence of the Bäch rounded skew high surface lends an exposed position to rotten oath.

Tunnels and pits point to the former dismantling of slate and ore. The Steillage in the northeast area of the district is covered with shoots. Here also lies the landscape stamping vineyard castle Marienlay.

The first naming in connection with a property of archbishop Poppo (1016-1047) in Murcid and the Martinus-Patrozinium of the parish church suggest an origin in the Karolingischen to clearing period.
