On half a height above the deeply cut valley there lies Gusterath. His far branched footpath net by wood, above meadows and fields invites to the active vacation. Gusterath is an approved tourism municipality. 1236 becomes Gusterath as„ Gozprethrode“ first in a document mentions. The name points to the origin of the place as a too late settlement period being proper.

Roman building rubble in the hall parts„ Lime cross“ and„ In the Schiffelland“ if scattered farmsteads cover at the Roman time. The chapel restored in 1981/82 substituted in 1797 with a new building for an older church which was ramshackle 1670.

With Gusterath a missing settlement, 1246 lay with the Ruwer as„ Nivenderoth“ it is called. At that time Friedrich of the Brück and Dietrich von Conz sold a mill and other possession to the Nonnenloster„ St. Martin on the mountain“. Northwesterly from Gusterath at the height between the halls„ Gallows game“ and„ Wackenwild“ if two mighty lime-trees and a field chapel stand far away obviously. From here a marvelous panorama about the scenery parts of the Ruwertales and the front timber forest comes up.
