Pommern Untermoselle: Holidays in the village
Pomerania belongs to the oldest wine villages on the Moselle. Historical findings prove a settlement by the Celts already more than 2000 years ago. The Romans cultivated the wine-growing and grew tropical fruits. From them the wine village of Pomerania has his name: POMARIA - the fruit garden.
Today thus Pomerania can look back at a more than 2000 years of age wine history and wine culture. Still today the wine-growing stamps the life in the village. With approx. 600 inhabitants Pomerania offers an intact infrastructure with excellent Urlaubsm öglichkeiten.
The local catering trade offers something for every taste: From culinary Mehrgangmenüs by the restaurants up to rustic winegrower's vespers in the Strauss's management.
Culture experience very closely-
this is possible above all in many parties
in our wine village. In Pentecost the Pommerner with her guests and the winegrower's
chapel Pomerania celebrate the summers night party. On the first week-end
in August the traditional wine fair is celebrated in the annual change by
the numerous local associations; at the middle of August the theatrical association
and home association organizes a national costume party with a festive national
costume relocation. The end and climax of the Pommerner festival season forms
the winegrower court party on the 3-rd week-end in September.
