The three rivers Moselle, Saar and Ruwer (see large map) are a synonym for relaxation and recreation, for viniculture and regional cuisine, for conviviality and hospitality. Here you will find a wide range of accommodation facilities: **** 4 star hotels, pensions, bed & breakfast, rooms, holiday homes or romantic vineyards.
Tourist offices at the localities of the several Moselle-regions (Border Triangle, Luxembourg Wine Route, Saar-Upper Moselle, Ruwer Valley, Trier, Trier County, Roman Wine Route, Middle Moselle, Zell Country, Cochem Holiday Country and Lower Moselle - also named Terrace-Moselle) will help the tourist and holiday-maker to find a hotel, holiday flat, bed & breakfast, restaurant, holiday home or a guest room at a vineyard farm, youth hostel, youth guest house, campsite for motorhome/campmobile, camping ground.
There are plenty of recreational offerings: fishing, excursions to castles and palaces, the whole range of aviation as well as hang gliding, ballooning, parachuting, thermal gliding or sightseeing flight tours over the rivers, mountains and valleys, golfing available on six different golf courses around the regions Moselle, Eifel or Hunsrück, children's leisure time facilities (miniature golf, horse riding, sailing, swimming, river cruises, nature trails, playgrounds, children's parties), art galleries, all kinds of museums, cycling and bike-tours on splendidly constructed cycle paths, equitation in riding schools, swimming in open air or indoor swimming pools, hot springs, Moselle-thermae, hiking through the vineyards or following selected routes, aquatic sport like water ski, paddling, canoeing, regattas, renting motor-boats or having a boat-tour, wellness for your body and soul. Main point is of course everything about wine. So you will come to know more about the winemaker's profession during the four seasons, the difference between "sweet and sour" - or better "smooth and dry" - , or the history of cork and the 2000-years-old tradition of winegrowing, about the sommeliére's job, sightseeing tours of wine cellars, wine tasting, the best glasses of wine or about the 1.200 years old so-called "Straußenwirtschaft" (small vine tavern, attached to a vineyard, licensed to open not longer than 16 weeks per year).
