Bernkastel-Kues, Mittelmosel: A cultural town it arouses enthusiasm

Whether history or culture, whether music or concert, whether wine or other highly spiritual offsprings of the shoot, whether romanticism, rest or experience: the visitor of Bernkastel-Kues may appear to impressions with which is only already made sure by the huge number and mixture that the personal holiday ideals are present guaranteed.
Bernkastel-Kues is the center of the Mittelmosel. Both parts of town, by a bridge directly linked, lie at the entrance of a big Moselle loop in which some of the worldwide most marvelous Riesling plants are generated. The famous one„ Bernkasteler doctor“ is only one of many. Besides Bernkastel-Kues is a center of the wine-growing culture, a town with the rich history which can be experienced in countless buildings and objects a town with marvelous scenery and one of the nicest romantic marketplaces.
The history of Bernkastel-Kues as a double town is still rather young; in 1904 the desegregation occurred. A year later the local parts were connected by a bridge. While Bernkastel with his narrow lanes reflects romanticism purely, Kues, as the place with the oldest human settlement counts in the Moselle area; in the Neolithic Age between 4000 and 3,000 B.C. people already sat down here. And of course Kues is the town of the scholar Nikolaus Cusanus - a fact which helps to open big parts of the history to the visitor.
